Chaveirim Story
It just started to snow about 10:00
pm my wife calls me from her cell phone telling me she’s lost and that she now feels that she has a flat tire. I asked
her do you know exactly where you are her reply wasn’t a comforting one she said, “I really have no idea,
and all I see are closed warehouses”.
As she’s telling me all this I can hear
my youngest crying in the background. So as a responsible person I made a three way call between myself, my wife and AAA.
There response was,” We won’t have anyone available for another 45 minutes or so and we aren’t even sure
exactly where your wife really is”. Now I know that our car does carry a spare tire so I decided to borrow our next-door
neighbors car and try to look for my family on my own by trying to back trace her steps. As I explained to my neighbor the
situation he told me to call Chaveirim for help and my immediate response to him was “The music group how are they going
to help” I thought to my self maybe one of the guys in the group knew someone important. So my neighbor said “No
silly”.
The real Chaveirim. He then went on to explain to me exactly who they are
he said that if anyone ever gets locked out of their car, house, bungalow, and there are children or adults locked inside
or even in a situation where immediate road side assistance is needed regardless of the time of day or the weather conditions.
So we immediately gave them a call within 30 seconds of the dispatcher relaying over the situation four of their members whom
actually know the area well had responded, and two of them went out to meet my wife. In the snow they changed her tire
as well as gave my youngest child some toy samples to keep busy, that he happened to have been carrying around from work.
Afterwards my wife tried to pay them for there work witch they so graciously declined and to top it off they followed her
back into Flatbush in case our spare tire gave her any trouble because the spare was actually a donut.....
